John's latest solo album, A Few Short Lines is a collection of well-known and not so well-known traditional Scottish, English and Irish ballads, sung to perfection in the pure, compelling voice which has become John Wright's trademark.
Maurice Dickson is a native of Belfast and is a
first-class singer/songwriter whose trademark is his unique style of guitar playing and foot percussion. His stage presence and personality enthrals his audiences, and he embraces both contemporary and
traditional material with ease, whether the song is one of his own compositions or a well-known "trad" song ... when sung by Maurice, it is different to any version you have ever heard before!
Maurice has been described as a "one-man foot-stompin'
rhythm 'n' blues band" which is a complete contrast to the sensitive accompaniment required for John's voice, but is an effortless transition for this extremely talented musician.
John Wright and Maurice Dickson are individual
performers, who have joined forces for this US tour. They complement each other, and the merger of these two diverse personalities resulted in a performance which can only be described as an experience we were pleased not to have missed!
