Andrew Gordonon tour from Scotland
ndrew was born on the West Coast of Scotland and is currently living in Edinburgh. Like many young musicians, Andrew played in a band for several years before going solo as a folk singer. Andrew plays a variety of traditional battle songs, ballads and funnies. He writes originals in a few musical styles on top of playing traditional songs.
e has worked hard and become a regular on the Edinburgh circuit, playing a variety of pubs and clubs, and is now looking to become well established further-a-field. Wherever Andrew travels abroad he takes his guitar and has won many new friends while in North America and Australia. This visit to our Hard Luck Café will build a cadre of new fans on Long Island.
n 2001 Andrew recorded his first album Better Late Than Never, aptly named after taking so long to complete the project. It was Andrew's first stab at recording, using an old tape four-track and computer for recording and editing. Andrew's second album should be available at the concert, with lyrics that are fun and ridiculous (and frequently rude or politically incorrect). This will be a real treat!

he YA YAs are a Huntington-based acoustic trio comprised of three longtime friends. They have been delighting audiences with their vibrant and original performances in many area coffeehouses, pubs and small concert venues since 1998.
inger Catherine Miles' vocal style is simultaneously voluptuous and ethereal, drawing the listener into the full emotion of the stories she sings. Guitarist Jay Mafale and keyboard player Paul Silverman deftly weave their voices and instruments together in a richness that belies the fact that there are only two instruments in the band.
he YA YAs were originally noted for their high-energy covers of familiar works; however, more recently they have been performing original material, showcasing their considerable talent, exquisite melodies, and intelligent lyrics. The YA YAs have recently been featured at the Eclectic Cafe and Jane Ross' Songbox concert series.
s of press time, their first CD Everything is being duplicated, and it is expected to be available on the night of the concert. The title song has been described as exquisitely beautiful; other tracks include a potential single called Coming 'Round (otherwise known as the Do Do Do Song), and a sad wistful tune called The Falling.
